Terms of service

Draft. This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. It describes how Caseback is designed to work and will be finalized before launch.

These terms cover your use of Caseback's apps and website. By creating an account, you agree to them.

What Caseback is

Caseback records the history of watches: ownership, service, and theft checks. Caseback does not authenticate watches and never certifies that a watch is genuine, original, or in any particular condition. A verified record means a watchmaker confirmed that they did the described work. It is not a statement about the watch's authenticity.

Your account

  • You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in devices secure.
  • You're responsible for activity on your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings.

Records you add

  • Only add watches you own or have permission to register, and records you believe are accurate.
  • Records you add are labelled as owner-logged until a watchmaker verifies them.
  • Don't upload altered receipts or false records. We may remove records and accounts involved in fraud.
  • Records stay attached to the watch after you sell it or delete your account, without your personal details.

Watchmakers and shops

Shops must pass a manual review before their records show as verified. Shops may only verify work they actually performed. We can remove a shop's verified status if it breaks these terms.

Community rules

Don't post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that exposes someone's personal information. You can report posts and users, and block people. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts.

AI-generated drafts

Some features use AI to suggest details from photos and receipts or to summarize a watch's history. Suggestions can be wrong. Check them before saving; you're responsible for what you save.

Liability

Caseback is provided as is. We aren't responsible for buying, selling, or service decisions you make based on records in Caseback, including records added by other people.
