A history is only useful if a buyer can tell a shop's confirmation from an owner's note. Every record on Caseback carries one of two marks.

Shops
How a shop earns the verified mark
They applyWith their business details, location, and credentials, such as WOSTEP or AWCI certification or brand service accounts.
We review by handA person checks the business and its credentials. Until then, nothing the shop confirms shows as verified.
They verify only their own workA shop can confirm jobs it closed in Caseback and records owners send to it. It can't verify another shop's work.
We watch for misuseDuplicate serials, edited receipts, and unusual verification patterns get flagged for review. A shop that breaks the rules loses its verified status.

What we don't do
Clear limits
AuthenticationCaseback never certifies that a watch is genuine. A verified record means a shop confirmed the work it did, nothing more.
AI on its ownAI reads photos and receipts into drafts and summarizes a watch's records. A person confirms every draft, and AI never adds a record by itself.
Selling watchesWe don't run a marketplace. Share your watch's history with the listing wherever you sell.
